You Make Me Happy

I have a quick post today and then I'm off to finish prepping for my catalog Preview Party this afternoon.
Today, I have a cute little card made with a Hostess stamp set coming out in our new catalog.  The set is called Hello Love and, like it's name, it's just cute.
The larger white layer is dry embossed.  The smaller white layer features 2 rounded corners, stamped gold highlights (with Gorgeous Grunge) and then, once all the pieces were in place, I spritzed it with gold shimmer.  I was kind of playing with the elegant gold accents against the more rustic look of the embossed layer.  I like the pop of blue with the little bird.
I've decorated the inside of the card and the envelope flap, so everything coordinates nicely.  I left plenty of room on the inside to write a nice note.

Fabulous Work of Art Note Card

Here's a cute little note card for today, made with our wonderful new stamp set, Work of Art.  I used all 5 of our new In Colors for ink choices when I stamped this card.
By adding a second layer of white CS to the front and popping it up on dimensionals, it bumps up this card to more of a wow level without adding to the level of difficulty in making it.  It's still an easy card to make and doesn't take very long.
I know I'll be using this stamp set a lot in the future.  I stamped two hearts (one is lighter by stamping off) on the envelope to help it to coordinate with the card.  I stamped one extra heart to cut out and put on a dimensional, to add an extra element of texture to the card.

A Double Bow Card

Here's another cute little tree card I made with our new Nuts About You stamp set.  This one features a double bow and 2 of our brand new In Colors - Mossy Meadow and Tangelo Twist.  The inside has a layer of Whisper White, so you can write your message, and stamped little grass pieces along the bottom, to coordinate with the front of the card.  Notice how I used 2 layers of Whisper White and popped the top layer up on dimensionals.  It really makes the focal piece stand out.
I love the little birds.
The heart on the tree, the bird in the nest and all the little leaves have all been cut out and attached with rolled up glue dots.

June Classes, Yet Another Look... and More Sneak Peeks

I've really been into making technique journals lately.  It's an easy way to have a quick reference at hand to remember a favorite technique that you want to use again.  Many of my upcoming Monday Night Stampers classes will be involved in making technique journals.  We can experiment with lots of fun and exciting techniques and keep them all in one place.

With June just around the corner, let's take another look at my upcoming classes for June.  First up, let's look at my Monday Night Stampers class for June 2.  We'll be making an entire technique journal, doing just what the journal title says:  DIP, DYE, EMBOSS, SPRITZ AND GLITZ.  We'll be working with ribbons and several other elements that can be used to add some glitz and glam to your projects.
It's so much fun to experiment with different techniques.  After learning each one, we'll create a wonderful reference tool, by keeping samples of each technique in our journal.
Next up, is my Scraps and Prayers class for June 9.  We'll be making a photo block.  You can use this to show off a favorite card or photo.
We'll be using some of the new DSP from our brand new Moonlight DSP stack!
Last, but not least, is my Friday Night Cards class for June 13.  We'll be playing with all our new In Colors and making some really cute cards.
And.. if that's not enough fun for June, I'll also be holding my annual Open House/New Catalog Party on June 22 (2:00-5:00).  I'll have all kinds of exciting new things to share with you then.  It will be a ton of fun!
MORE SNEAK PEEKS FOR MONDAY NIGHT STAMPERS:
The first journal is just what the title says:  Dip, Dye, Emboss, Spritz and Glitz.  As with our Ribbon Techniques Journal (from May), this journal will be full of lumpy goodness, showing all kinds of ribbons and other fun items that you can color to add glitz and glam to your projects.

The Embellish Your Life little journal is made with the Scalloped Tag Topper punch.  It's kind of like a swatch book.  Each page will have different kinds of embellishments you can make to use on cards, scrapbooking and 3-D projects.

The Coloring Techniques Journal will have loads of ideas for coloring techniques, including notes on which tools to use with which inks and which papers.  You'll have an easy reference so your coloring will always turn out great.

Another Ribbons Card

Before we get started today, I want to remind you of my catalog Preview Party this Saturday, May 31, as well as several super fun classes I have planned for June.  Be sure to check them all out.  Now, for today's card ...

I used some more of my layered ribbons scraps to create another colorful ribbons card.  This one has no stamping at all ... yet ... as I want to wait and personalize it when I'm ready to send it to someone special.  I've decorated the inside of the card and the envelope flap so they all coordinate.

As I mentioned before... I'm loving the new In Colors!

Nuts About You

One of our new Hostess stamp sets coming out with the new catalog is called Nuts About You.  It has the cutest little tree in the set.  I chose it for one of the two Hostess sets I could get now with my Preorder.  You'll be seeing several projects I've made with it, for sure.  This card design was inspired by Stampin' Up! in one of their suggested designs sheets for demonstrators.
I won't mislead you into thinking that this was a quick and easy card to make.  It DID take a while to do it, but I think the results are worth it.  There's plenty of room inside for a special note.
The sun is attached with dimensionals and the bird and heart are attached with stacked glue dots, for added dimension.
The leaves were stamped and cut separately and then attached with rolled up glue dots.

Loving our New In Colors!

Before we get started today, be sure to look over on the left on my blog page and see sneak peeks for my next classes!  I really am loving our new In Colors!  They are rich and vibrant and gorgeous.  Today, I have some more fun projects I want to share with you that I've been doing with our new In Colors.  First of all, it was love at first sight when I saw our new In Colors ribbons.  They feel so silky smooth and are just beautiful.  I covered a piece of CS with a strip of each of our new In Colors ribbons.  After smoothing down all the strips of ribbon, I trimmed the layered ribbon piece to fit a couple of card projects I had in mind.
Then, I started to work on my first card.
The 'Hi' greeting comes from our new photopolymer alphabet called Metro Type Alphabet.   Because it's photopolymer, I could line up both letters on my clear block and stamp the word all at one time.
I added several layers to the front of the card, to pull together all the ribbon colors.  I added a decorative look to the inside of the card, as well, along with a coordinating flap on the envelope.  The striped DSP is from one of our new paper stacks, Moonlight.
Then, I stepped up the card for a nice, finished look.  Just adding 3 little flowers with pearl centers changes the entire look of the card.  The adorable little flowers are from our new trio of punches:  Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack.

So... I had more pieces left, after I cut the ribbon layered piece for my card.  What else could I make?
Come back for my next post and see another card I made with the ribbons layer.  I still have these little strips left.  What should I make with these???  Wouldn't you agree with me?  These new colors are yummy!!!

Meet the New 2014-2016 In Colors

It is my pleasure to introduce you to our brand new In Colors.  I've been playing with them and, the more I work with them, the more I love them.

Our new In Colors are:
Hello Honey
Blackberry Bliss
Lost Lagoon
Mossy Meadow
Tangelo Twist

Would you like to see what I've made so far?  Take a look.

The framed butterflies show ALL our In Colors... carry-over colors on the left and brand new colors on the right.  I've also made tags (Scalloped Tag Topper punch) from watercolor paper and spritzed each one with one of our new In Colors.  I spritzed them with a mixture of reinker and alcohol.  The filter paper flowers were also spritzed in the same way and then I added additional accents of deeper colors by gently brushing the ink pads directly over the tips of each of the petals.  Super fun and super pretty!  In real life, you can see they have a shimmer to them because, after they dried, I spritzed them again with a mixture of Vanilla Shimmer and alcohol.
Aren't the ribbons gorgeous.  In one of my upcoming Monday Night Stampers classes, I'll be sharing with you how I made the sparkle on the mini clothespin.  The little gift box has another flower on it made in the same way as the other flowers.  In my next posts, I'll share some brand new card projects I've been making, using our new In Colors.
