Guessing Game, Part 6

I have another card design for you today that was inspired by my Season of Style framed project.  I love the wreath.  If you look closely, you can see that I've used my little trick of double embossing on the Cherry Cobbler piece directly behind the wreath.

Today's design inspiration came from the lower left corner.
... and my previous card design inspired by this framed project:
Thanks for stopping by.  I have one more design inspiration to share with you in my next post.  After that, I'll be sharing some gift card holders that could work for cash or a check as well.  Come back and see how I dress up the presentation to show off how special it really is.

Guessing Game, Part 5

Today I continue our little guessing game but with a new framed project as my design inspiration.  The next cards you see were inspired by my Season of Style framed project.  This is my 'Joy' card.

My color story:
-Cherry Cobbler
-Old Olive
-Whisper White

Remember this framed project?  My design inspiration came from the top, middle square.  What square do you think I'll use next?  Come back to check it out.

Guessing Game, Part 4

Here's a quick post before church this morning and my final card that was inspired by my Winter Frost framed project.  This design features dry embossing and heat embossing.  Take a look:
I think all the embossing gives this fairly simple card a quiet elegance.  I love the dove stamp.
... and here's my framed project, with the square for today's design inspiration in the top, left corner.
... and, again, my 2 other cards inspired by this framed project:

Thanks for stopping by.  Come back to see a couple of card designs that were inspired by my Season of Style framed project.  Have a beautiful day.

Guessing Game, Part 3

Today, we continue my little guessing game with another card that was inspired by a previous project of mine.  One look and I'm sure you can guess how I came to be inspired for this card design, too.  This card has a special feature to it and lots of gorgeous glimmer.
Did you guess?  This card design was inspired by my Winter Frost framed project, shown in the last photo today.

... ready... set... open...  The special feature for this design is a card that is attached to the top flap and slides up when you open the flap.  There is room below the stamped message to write a note and sign the card.  Love it!
 ... and my previous card...
Did you guess yet?  My design inspiration came from the lower left square.  Even when you design something yourself, it can still guide your design inspiration for future projects.  Fun, right?!
Thanks for stopping by today.  Come back soon for more design inspiration.

Guessing Game, Part 1

Today, I am going to start a fun little series of posts that will involve some clever guessing on your part.  Do you remember this project?  It was created using the colors (and some of the papers) from our Winter Frost DSP.
... and do you remember this project?  It was created with Season of Style DSP colors.
That's all I'm going to say about them.  Come back soon to see how I use inspiration from these projects to design several new projects.

A Mini Album for Christmas

I often have friends telling me that they wanted to make a scrapbook for a Christmas gift but ran out of time.  I may have just the solution for you.  Today, I'll share the mini album that we'll be making at my next Scraps and Prayers class.  This could be used for a Christmas gift, a brag album, or adapted for a birthday or other special occasion... even a special vacation trip.

This album has a Cherry Cobbler cover with a beautiful 3-D snowflake on it.  The pages are made with several of our Tag A Bag gift bags and more Cherry Cobbler CS.  It's fun and easy to make and has pockets for additional photos or journaling.  It ties shut with some of our Chevron Ribbon.

Thanks for stopping by.  Don't forget to sign up for my next classes and my Christmas Open House.  I have a lot of stamping fun waiting for you!

A Winter Snowflake Card

Here's a nice winter card for you today, filled with snowflakes.  The only stamping is on the inside.  I've given it a very rich look by using our Brushed Silver for the top, embossed layer.  I love the look.  The ribbon and the card base are Bermuda Bay.

There's a New Turkey in Town

I hope you had a beautiful Thanksgiving.  We had both my children, their spouses, 3 grandchildren, 3 grandparents and 1 great grandmother here and it was a beautiful day.  With my knee in such bad shape, everyone pitched in and prepared a beautiful meal.

Our oldest grandson has severe food allergies so I went looking for something special, just for him.  On Pinterest, I found the perfect solution --- a fruit turkey!  We got everything we needed to make it and, so I wouldn't have to stand too long to prepare it, my DIL stepped up and did a fabulous job!  I love it.  Benjamin was soooooo happy when he saw it and I think it really meant a lot to him that he got something special, too.  I guess I'll have to come up with a Christmas version of it.
In the photo, he's already eaten a piece or two:)
Here's what your turkey looks like fresh off the Weber.  My husband is a devoted Weber man and has been for many years.  The turkey looks gorgeous and tastes wonderfully delicious.
I am not showing you the other side of the turkey.  My Weber man is also a turkey lover and he already had taken a few nibbles before I could get my shot of it:)

I tried to get a good shot or two of all 3 of the grandkids playing together, but they were all moving too fast to capture it all.  I put my camera down and just enjoyed playing with them.  Bill and I were going to have someone take a photo of us with the 3 grandkids after our dinner, but we totally forgot.  There goes that Christmas card idea!
