There were so many awesome displays at Convention.  I will share just a tiny bit of what we saw.  There were tons of HUGE display boards, just filled with beautiful creations and wonderful project ideas.  I'll break up my posts into 3 parts to share these with you.  I hope they give you some inspiration.  Enjoy!

Coming up soon:

  • More Convention sharing.

Convention 2012: Riverton

Our first day of Convention is always a busy one.  We went on the tour of the Home Office at Riverton first, to avoid standing in such long lines.  By doing so, I didn't end up on my crutches like I did last year.  Yay!  After the tour, we took in all the displays (I'll share a few of my favorites in another post.), picked up my award I earned this year (Yay, again!), ate a quick salad for lunch, visited with friends we ran into along our way, picked up our gorgeous Convention bags, went to Memento Mall for Convention goodies, ate a quick dinner and then headed for our class on the new My Digital Studio 2.  The class was amazing; everything was amazing!  I cannot begin to share all my photos, but here are a few highlights from our Riverton tour.  I'll be putting them in my Stampin' Up! album as soon as I get the updated My Digital Studio downloads.  You'll be able to see them when you're here for my classes.

above:  ...at the rock... with my beautiful daughter, Jenn.
below:  ...inside the central area of the home office.  It's beautiful and even has a fountain.  What a peaceful place for the employees to eat their lunch every day!

...the little vignettes are some of my favorites to see...
...2012 banners...
...just look at these workers getting boxes ready to ship...
...the magnitude of this place always impresses me...
...again, at the central area with the fountain, by the grand piano...

The photo above is the 'picking line' where they fill our orders.  Is that box for you?

...beautiful paper sculptures, covered books and gorgeous cards...

These paper flowers were huge!
...even the entire wall was covered with DSP!   ...and who wouldn't want a lamp base full of stamps?  tee hee hee!

Convention 2012: Swaps & Goodies

Ready to see some fun shots from Convention?

Let's start out with our gorgeous bag.  I like it so much!!!

Here we are (my daughter, Jenn, and I) with Shelli, at Convention.  I kind of became inseparable from my gorgeous bag.  Actually, I was avoiding taking it off my shoulder because I'd already lost one earring on this trip.  This is the third time I've lost an earring on the Convention trip.  Ugh!

Here's the 'bag tag' I made for my Convention bag.  I nailed the colors --- lucky guessing and hoping:)

When we had our visit with Shelli, I had her sign the back of my 'bag tag' and she said how much she liked it, tee hee hee:)

Goodies!!!

These are free goodies from classes, etc. and a couple of gifts.  I got 4 packs of free fabric, an MDS board book and SEVEN stamp sets.  I would have had another one if I'd won prize patrol, but maybe next year.

Here are just some of my swaps.  This was so much fun.  I think I took 45 swaps with me.  Here are some close-ups of some of them.

The above card is from one of my favorite bloggers and friends:  Kim VanDiepen.  The one below is from another friend and blogger favorite:  Patty Bennett.  Hers is a hybrid card, starting out with MDS.  I love how she does this.

This card is by my upline's upline:  Robin Armbrecht.  She is an awesome stamper.

The card below is by my good friend and great stamper:  Sue Scheets.  We talk each week about how our business is going and share tips and ideas for classes and other fun stuff.

So, this should be a ton of inspiration for you today.  I hope you enjoyed it all!

Forever Young

With a lot of fun sponging in the background, I have a card that brings back a flood of warm memories for me.

When my daughter was young, she spent hours swinging in our backyard, usually accompanied by singing at the top of her lungs.  This stamp set makes me think about those times.  It is Forever Young and works nicely for silhouettes.  It's always fun to stamp a coordinating envelope, too.  I like the crisp contrast of the black and white.

I Can't Wait!

I have so many exciting events planned for August that I can hardly wait!  August is the month that speaks to us of the coming of fall, of summer about to slip away, of wanting to add a few more fun events to our schedule.  I have just the plan for you!

Notice that we've added an MDS Class --- My Digital Studio.  My daughter will be teaching this class for us and it will be packed with fun ideas for making the most of this amazing program.  We'll have more details soon.  In the meantime, save the date.

Holiday Mini Party --- The Fun Friday Project Class (Aug. 24) will be in a party setting, using all new products from the Holiday Mini.  You won't want to miss this class!!!  Come and join in on the fun, see some of our great new products and learn how to use them.  I'll be sharing some ideas I learned from Convention this year, too.  It will be a fun-filled evening; I promise.  Get a friend to sign up and double the fun!

Don't Give Up Smiling!

Our Reason to Smile promotion is almost over.  Don't miss out on this great stamp set.  Check here for details.

Here's a little card I made using this stamp set.

Remember this card?  This is the slightly larger version that inspired today's card.  It was featured on My Crafty World!

I'm off for some quick stamping time in my studio before getting into an even busier day.

Sneak Peek for Friday, July 27

Would you like a sneak peek at one of the projects for this Friday?  Here it is!

In real life, you can see lots and lots of sparkle on this card.  It has layers, texture and sparkle.  I hope you'll come and join us this Friday for a super great evening of just plain fun and easy projects.

I got home from Utah last night --- late --- and will now be working on getting some fun Convention photos ready to post and share with you, not to mention - more fun projects.  I started unpacking and found my camera cord.  Yay!

See you soon!

Another Comfort Cafe Project

I love the Comfort Cafe DSP.  As I finish my packing and prepare to return home from Utah, here's a card I made shortly before coming to Convention.
I used the Papaya Collage stamp set and embellished with a knotted ribbons and lace bow and a punched 'ribbon' strip across the bottom of the card.  As you can see, I did a lot of sponging to add more dimension to my card.  The card base is midnight muse.

Convention has been an unbelievable and inspiring event, as always.  I can't wait to get home and share more about it with you.  Evidently I buried my cord to upload my photos from my camera to my computer (deep in my suitcase, I'm sure) so I'll share lots of fun photos when I get home, get them uploaded, sorted and ready to share.

I'll close by sharing that our group enjoyed a dinner together at the Roof restaurant in the Joseph Smith building.  It's across from the building where the Mormon Tabernacle Choir performs their annual Christmas program.  I think they may have been having a concert there tonight.  If we'd known earlier, we would have tried to attend.  The restaurant seated us by a panoramic window view of the city, with the mountains in the distance.  It was just beautiful.  We could also see the gorgeous architecture of the temple on another side of our table.  The dinner buffet was awesome and to say that we strayed a bit from our Atkins program would be an understatement.  We will be good again until next year!  Since we were close to the Convention Center and right across from a gorgeous new mall.  My daughter and I stopped on our way to the restaurant and did a 'power' shopping trip, going to the Coach and the Brighton stores and treating ourselves to a 'little something' at each.  How fun!

I'm off to bed to rest up before the long trip home.  I hope you'll sign up to attend my Fun Friday Project Class this week.  I'll be sharing some of what I learned and what I brought home from Convention and you'll enjoy a variety of fun projects using a variety of fun new products.

Come and join us!
