Double Pocket Treat Holder: How to do It

Olive Jane is back home today and, hopefully, continuing to get over her cold.  I'm home with Aaron with both of us nursing some asthma problems.  I thought I'd take advantage of the time and finish giving you the DIY instructions for making your own Double Pocket Treat Holder.

Don't panic when you see all the directions.  Look at the pictures first, to get the plan into your head of what you're going to do.  It's really very easy, so I hope you'll give it a try.
I would recommend printing out my diagrams first, so that you can refer to them as you follow these directions.
  • Start with an 8" square of DSP.
  • Score, using the Diagonal Scoring Plate, at 0" and 3/4".
  • Rotate 1/2 turn and score again at 3/4".
  • Rotate 1/4 turn and score at 2 3/4".
  • Rotate 1/2 turn and score again at 2 3/4".
You'll end up with a square that has 2 scoring lines in one direction and 3 scoring lines going across them.
  • Place the pattern that you want for the outside facing down.
  • Fold in the 2 flaps on the part that has 2 score lines.
  • Bring top pointed section over on top of bottom pointed section, folding your project in 1/2.
  • Now fold back out on outer middle fold lines, so you see the little pockets on the outside of your project.
Here's a trick for getting your hole positioned correctly and easily.
  • Punch an oval out of a sticky note.  (You can use several shapes and sizes of circles or ovals for your hole.)  I'm using the 3/4" oval punch.  It's such a cute little shape.
  • Position the punched sticky note piece where you want it on your project and punch your hole.  Because you're punching through DSP and not CS, you can go through both layers at the same time.
Now comes the real fun:
  • Tie a ribbon (or ribbons) through your hole.  This holds your project together.  You'll notice that there's absolutely no adhesive on your project at this point:)
  • Add stamped pieces and embellishments, as desired, to decorate both of the outsides of your pockets.
  • Add a cute little card or treat to each pocket.
  • Give it to a special someone!
