A Wonderful Party!

We had a great time at Olive Jane's party yesterday.  She was absolutely the most perfect party girl you could ever hope to see.  As the presents were opened, she wiggled all over with delight and actually hit her bare heels against the floor as she anxiously awaited getting to see each toy.  Then, she would clap and smile with delight.  What a doll!

She had a party at her sitter's, too, so she's been a regular party girl lately:)

As you can see, a Horton party is a perfect combination of expert crafting paired with perfect chefs!

I'll be super busy this week prepping for my May classes.  Check out my class events and see what you'd like to take to join in on the fun!

Getting Ready to Party!

Olive Jane's birthday party is tomorrow afternoon and I think we're all ready to start the fun!  Here's the cute little hat I made for her.
We made pillow box favor boxes in pink, celery and chocolate chip.  The invites, thank you notes and decorations are all coordinated.
Here's the hat base that I started out with to create the owl hat.  I ordered a package of these from the SU clearance rack for under $2.00.  It saved me from starting from scratch to create the hat AND I didn't have to come up with the elastic to hold it on, either.  I'll save the rest of the hats in the kit for future parties.
The rosettes will go onto the highchair tray, like a mini banner.
We made a huge 'Happy Birthday' banner to hang on their fireplace, but I will have to take a photo of that at the party, when it's already hanging in place.  I'll try to get a shot of the cupcake toppers on the cupcakes, too.  Now, let's hope that Olive Jane will leave on her hat long enough to get a cute photo.

Using the Nursery Nest, DSP, I also set aside papers to use later to scrapbook the event.  My DIL and I enjoyed our time together so much and we got everything finished without the pressure of one of us trying to do it all alone.  Like I've said before, I'm the happiest Nanna in the world!

Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday, my sweet little Olive Jane.  I cannot believe we've had you for one entire year already.  You have been such a blessing to our lives.  I'm the happiest Nanna in the world.
I'll be sharing more with you soon about all the fun projects we made for Olive Jane's birthday party.  I can't wait to scrapbook her first party.  Have a great weekend!

Good Mocha Morning!

I am so excited to share today's post with you!  This is one of my latest wreath creations.  It was inspired by my friend and customer, Marsha.  She created the most gorgeous collage frame at my class, using Mocha Morning DSP.  I love the yummy colors in these papers!  I was curious as to how they would look in a large wreath above my fireplace.  I was going for a vintage look.

I covered a few of my Spice Cake buttons (soft suede, from my stash:) with punched circles of the DSP.  I added Antique Brads to the crumpled flowers and to the embossed butterflies.  I love how it turned out.  Stay tuned for another Mocha Morning project, coming soon.

Before you go, just a few reminders about Stampin' Up! retiring products and new things to come:
Get them before they are gone! The Retired Accessories and Definitely Decorative (including Décor Elements) lists are now available and won't stay around for long, as these are limited in quantity and can sell out fast.  Some are even discounted from 25% up to 70% off!!!
I highly recommend placing your orders early as things will sell out. If you have not yet completed your collection of the 2010-2012 In Color ink pads, card stock, markers, refills, ribbon, you'll want to get them ASAP!

SUPER GOOD NEWS:
I am offering a special that you'll want to enjoy:  If you order $50. in product through me (before tax and shipping) any time between now and the end of May, I will give you the upcoming new big catalog --- for FREE.  You can spread the $50. out throughout the time remaining until the end of May, as long as the cumulative amount comes to $50.  You can order online or during a class... and don't forget that ordering $25. at a time could earn you a free class, too, so it's all good and all fun!!!

Before we go any further, I wanted to show you an adorable card that my daughter made for me.  She used the Summer Smooches products.

Isn't this the cutest card ever!  I love the bright and cheery look of the Summer Smooches products.  She used the little oval frame embossing folder for the focal piece.

Here's a peek at new classes for May.

You'll provide:
Your own adhesive, ideas and designs.
I will have stations for cutting, punching and using the Big Shot.

A Little Birdie Told Me

Here's another look at a card for my Friday 3-4-5 class tomorrow night.  I should just show you a peek, but he's so cute that I have to share all of this one.
I wish the photo was a little better, but I'm really struggling with my camera.  I am thinking that I may just need to break down and get a new one.  Geez!  Anyway, in the meantime, I can tell you that he is even cuter in real life.

The stamp set is one of my all-time favorites --- Best of Everything.  The strip of DSP is from the Summer Smooches collection.  The real red and daffodil delight look so bright and cheerful against the white background!

The cute little bird is colored in with markers (color, huff and stamp) and then punched out with a 1 1/4" circle punch and attached (with dimensionals) to a 1 3/8" circle punch.  I colored in the eye with the tiny point of the marker, after stamping.

Well, I'm off to work out more on my new treadmill --- lovin' it so much!!!  Then, it's back to work in my studio.  Life is good:)
